PENTOS & BASIL is a contemporary, pork-free Italian restaurant brand in Greater Kuala Lumpur. Its two restaurants are at Aurora Place in Bukit Jalil and Jalan 21/12 in Seapark, Petaling Jaya.

PENTOS & BASIL began in Bukit Jalil in 2021 and later grew to Seapark PJ, serving pork-free Italian comfort food with a distinctly Malaysian point of view.

Is PENTOS & BASIL halal?
PENTOS & BASIL is pork-free but is not currently halal-certified. Some recipes contain alcohol, including selected seafood dishes and artisan mains; guests should check with the outlet team for current dietary details.

What is made in-house?
The kitchen makes its potato gnocchi, beef ravioli and lasagna in-house, in limited portions. Spaghetti and fettuccine are not made in-house, so the website does not describe every pasta dish as handmade.
Menu focus
Why is there no pizza?
The current menu does not list pizza. PENTOS focuses instead on classic pasta sauces, arborio rice risotto, house-made filled and baked specialties, Mediterranean-inspired starters and slow-cooked artisan mains.

What does “Italian roots, Malaysian soul” mean?
The classics remain recognisable—carbonara, pomodoro, risotto, gnocchi and ravioli—while local dining habits shape the generous sharing style, seafood choices, spice and relaxed neighbourhood atmosphere.
